Alberto Castillo is the tenth major league player to wear a Vinci glove. Alberto is a friend of Vladimir Nunez, who was the first major League player to ever wear a Vinci glove. During the 1994 amateur draft Alberto Castillo was chosen by the San Francisco Giants and began his career as a first baseman, which he played through 1995 until being converted to a full time pitcher.
In 1997 Castillo was traded by the Giants to the New York Yankees where he played until 1999. He then played for the northern league for teams like the Chicago White Sox and the San Diego Padres.
From 2000 to 2007 he pitched for teams in the Atlantic league until being signed by the Baltimore Orioles in 2008. Alberto Castillo was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks in June 2011. He pitched his first game and got the win, with the team on June 28th where he was pictured wearing Vinci glove model CT82-M, a 12 inch fielder’s glove from the Vinci Mesh Series.
Congratulations on your return to the Major Leagues Alberto!!
